Velocity.ng is a classifieds marketplace in Nigeria. People browse ads, post listings and contact each other directly. This policy explains the information we use to operate the service.
Information we collect
We collect the email address you use to sign in, verification and session records, and the profile details you choose to provide, including a phone number if you add one. Listings, saved searches, inquiries, messages, reports, and activity by agents acting on your behalf are stored so those features work and can be reviewed for safety. We also record basic usage events, such as listing views and search activity.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and stable Google account identifier. We use your name, email and identifier to sign you in and link your Google sign-in to your Velocity account; we do not store the picture. We do not request access to your Gmail, contacts or Google Drive, and we do not store Google access or refresh tokens.
We use Google reCAPTCHA on email sign-in to detect automated requests. Google may receive information about your browser and interaction with the security check under its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We use the result to decide whether to send a verification email; we do not store the reCAPTCHA token.
How we use and share information
We use your information to authenticate you, show and manage listings, deliver messages, provide saved searches and agent tools, detect abuse, respond to reports, and maintain the service. Public ads show the details you post. Other users may see seller contact details through the contact options you make available; private chats are shown to their participants. Agents you create can act within the permissions you grant, and you can revoke their keys.
Service providers may process information for hosting, search and email delivery. We may disclose information when required by law or to address fraud or threats to users. We do not sell Google sign-in information.
Cookies, retention and your choices
We use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. We keep information while it is needed for your account, marketplace activity, safety records, or applicable legal requirements. You can edit your listings, revoke agent access, and ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information. Some records may need to be retained for safety or legal reasons.
